Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Page Boys Basketball:NWG Vikings take Third in the HAECO behind Reiber, Hampton, Humphrey, Hartzell, Ballou and Watkins

GAME NOTES:
–The #3 seed Northwest Guilford faced off against the #5 seed Page in the final round of the HAECO Invitational Tournament in Greensboro, NC for third place overall.

Northwest Guilford came out sort of sluggish in the first quarter but then in the second quarter Northwest caught fire behind 3-point shooting from Connor Ballou, Jackson Hartzell, Josh Humphrey and Christian Hampton. The Vikings would outscore Page 30-15 in the 2nd quarter and go into halftime up 43-32.

The Vikings would continue to shoot the ball very consistently in the 3rd and 4th quarters and Page just could not keep up. The game was pretty much a 20-point deficit for Page late into the 3rd quarter and extending pretty much into the entire 4th quarter.

The Vikings had 15 3-pointers on the day and would win easily 82-62 behind a great offensive effort with 4 players in double-digit scoring. The Vikings would secure the #3 spot in the HAECO Invitational Tournament.

–Dean Reiber would bounce back big time in this one and lead all scorers with 23 points and he also had 6 rebounds. Chris Hampton would add 20 points along with 5 assists. Josh Humphrey had a big day for the Vikings with 17 points along with a team leading 8 rebounds. Jackson Hartzell had 11 points (3 3-pointers) along with 3 assists. Connor Ballou also had 3 3-pointers on the day and finished with 9 points and 4 assists. Drew Watkins would chip in 2 points as well.
