Hendon Hooker named MVP at VPI(Virginia Polytechnic Institute)/Virginia Tech:Former Dudley HS QB excels/exhales in Blacksburg, VA

CHARLOTTE – The Virginia Tech football coaching staff revealed the Hokies’ team awards for the 2019 season on the eve of the squad’s Belk Bowl contest vs. Kentucky at Bank of America Stadium on Tuesday.

Most Valuable Player – QB Hendon Hooker(Dudley High School/Greensboro, N.C.)

High School: Played for head coach Steven Davis at Dudley … Passed for 6,027 yards and 55 touchdowns and rushed for 2,975 yards with 48 touchdowns … Three-time all-conference selection … Two-time Associated Press All-State team … All-State Player of the Year by NC Preps … Two-time state champion … Named the 2016 championship game MVP after accounting for six TDs … Finished his career as Dudley’s all-time leading passer … Scored more than 1,000 points in basketball and was a three-time All-Metro conference selection.
