Game Report on East Forsyth-Ragsdale Boys Basketball:EF Eagles claim their second straight win and knock off a Ragsdale team that beat the Eagles back in December/Rhodes and Reeves to the rack for East

East Forsyth rallied from an early deficit & managed a slim lead throughout the second half enroute to a 60-55 win at Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville Friday night. The Eagles took the lead at 40-39 with three minutes left in the third quarter & never trailed again to win its second game in as many nights.

The visiting Tigers, who won a come-from-behind game with East 51-45 in the season’s second game, tied the tight game at 55 with two minutes remaining on a three-pointer by Aiden Freeman, Ragsdale’s leading scorer with 11.

East regained the lead at 58-55 with a minute remaining on a free throw & a jumper in the lane from Ty Lyles & sealed the win with a Jalen Thorns basket on a long pass/rebound from Jordan Timmons after the Tigers’ final missed shot.

East trailed by 11 early (19-8) and did not score a field goal for the game’s first 7:30. But the Eagles rallied quickly in the second period behind Will Rhodes, the game’s high scorer with 17, and tied the game at 28 at the half. The Eagles never led by more than five points but finished the third period in style with a thunderous dunk at the buzzer on a pass from Lyles to Zyun Reeves, who scored 16 for East & grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

The Eagles begin Central Piedmont 4A Conference play on Tuesday at home against West Forsyth & play the following night at home against Mount Airy, who East defeated 47-36 last night.
