GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State sophomore Elissa Cunane(Northern Guilford High School) has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Pitt’s Amber Brown is the ACC Freshman of the Week.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Cunane posted a pair of 20-point games to lead NC State to a perfect week, as the ninth-ranked Wolfpack moved to 14-0 and is now one of the nation’s four remaining unbeaten teams. The sophomore center tied a career high with 28 points against Virginia Tech to go along with nine rebounds, scoring 23 second-half points including seven unanswered in the fourth quarter.

The Summerfield, North Carolina, native tallied her eighth double-double of the season against Virginia on Sunday, netting a game-high 26 points with 10 rebounds. For the week, she averaged 27.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while connecting on 19-of-21 free throws.
