The Carolina Cobras announce the hiring of LaRoi Johnson as the new Director of Player Personnel.
LaRoi Johnson has been around the arena game for years and has played with Coach Resignalo on three different teams. After a very successful career as a Tight End for Malone he was rated as the number 47 TE in the 2008 draft.

He has played with multiple teams over the years and retired from playing in 2015. He is a current High School coach at Sto-Rox High School in McKees Rocks, PA, which is just outside of Pittsburgh. He has helped dozens of kids get to college to continue their playing careers and education. Born and raised in Pittsburgh he has that blue-collar drive to make sure he gets things done, and you have a hard time out working him. Last season he was the Offensive Coordinator for the WV Roughriders for most of the season leading them to an undefeated season before leaving.

Coach Resignalo said “This game brings many people in and out of our lives. Some come and go, for others there are bonds that will never be broken and that is why I love this game. Some players and coaches and other staff in organizations become family and brothers, where relationships last long after football. For me LaRoi is one of those guys. LaRoi played for me three different seasons in three different cities. He and I have been close ever since our first meeting. LaRoi is a long-time vet in the game and has been at every level.

LaRoi played WR, FB, OL, DL and even Mack and Jack Backer. He is a football guru. He has helped many players from the high schools he has coached to go on to excel at the college level. LaRoi is the perfect match for us with his connections to help continue assemble a championship caliber team. Last season LaRoi helped lead a WV team that would go on to fire him after producing an undefeated streak a few weeks before the season ended.

LaRoi basically handed the keys to the Ferrari over as WV continued their streak and won their league in 2019. So, it is only fitting that LaRoi be a part of a team who will be doing battle with one of his former teams. I am excited to be working with a very close friend on the coaching side. It’s tough to fill the shoes of long-time friend and Arena legend Clayton Banner, but LaRoi is ready for the task at hand.”
