Game Report on East Forsyth-Davie County Boys Basketball:EF Eagles fly past DC, with Timmons, Rhodes and Thorns taking on key roles for the K’ville Kids

East Forsyth’s stifling defense staked the Eagles to a big early lead & they cruised to a 53-37 victory over Davie County at Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville Thursday night. East limited the War Eagles to three field goals in the game’s first two quarters to take its third Central Piedmont 4A Conference win in four starts.

Center Zyun Reeves blocked five of his eight shots in the first 16 minutes as the Eagles expanded their 17-point halftime lead to 21 (31-10) before Davie went on its only run of the game to cut the EF lead to 14 (35-21) with a minute left in the third period.

But the Eagles scored 11 of the next 13 points over the next two minutes behind consistent pressure defense to put the game away, leading by as many as 23 points (52-29) before clearing the bench with 3 minutes left.

Jordan Timmons led all scorers with 14 & Will Rhodes added 12 for the winners. Jalen Thorns grabbed 6 rebounds to go with his 11 points and Reeves led all rebounders with ten as East Forsyth dominated the visiting War Eagles on the boards with a +17 advantage. Brooks Johnson scored 10 points to led Davie County.

The Eagles return to the court for a CPC game next Tuesday at RJ Reynolds, unbeaten in conference play entering its game at Glenn tomorrow night in Kernersville.
