RICHMOND, Va. – Coming off an undefeated weekend at the Elon Softball Classic, senior Kenna Quinn of the Elon University softball team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Quinn went 2-0 over the weekend with complete game victories over Rhode Island and Longwood. The Boiling Springs, S.C., native posted a 0.00 ERA in her 14.0 innings of action while striking out 13 batters with four walks. Quinn tied her career-best with eight strikeouts in the Phoenix’s season-opening 5-0 win versus Rhode Island on Saturday. This is Quinn’s first career CAA Pitcher of the Week accolade.
The Phoenix is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12, hosting North Carolina A&T at Hunt Softball Park. That game is slated for a 4 p.m. first pitch.
