Joseph & Hickson Both Post Double Doubles As Pride Women Hold On Late To Top Monarchs 74-65

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s basketball team held on down the stretch to top the Monarchs of Methodist University Wednesday 74-65.

Over the first two minutes, the two teams played to a 5-5 tie before the Pride close out the period on a 21-8 run to take a 13-point advantage into the second. Ashley Free struck for six points during the run, while Diajah Hickson and Sabria Joseph combined for nine points.

Following the run to close out the period, Greensboro was then able to take a 47-32 lead into halftime after outscoring the Monarchs 21-19.

After the intermission, Greensboro continued to did not allow Methodist to cut into their advantage in the third period, but the Monarchs were able to battle back to within seven with five minutes remaining in the game. However, the Pride was able to hold on down the stretch for the nine-point victory.

Joseph finished the game with 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Hickson also posted a double-double. Hickson finished the game with 14 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and six steals. Ashley Free also finished in double figures scoring with 12.
