Elon Men’s Tennis Phoenix Comes Out Victorious Against Longwood, 4-3

ELON, N.C.- The Elon University men’s tennis team defeated Longwood University for its second win of the season on Saturday, Feb. 15, 4-3.

HIGHLIGHTS
The match was highlighted by Kyle Frankel, who defeated Amadeo Blasco in singles to secure the win for the Phoenix. After dropping the first set, Frankel took the last two to ultimately win 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Camilo Ponce and Dino Bonetta also competed in singles. Ponce recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory, while Bonetta earned his first singles win of the season with a 6-3, 7-5 score.

Elon came out on top in two of its three doubles matches. Ponce and Sam Dively started off with a 6-1 victory, while Chung-Han Tsai and Bonetta picked up a 6-3 win over Longwood’s Marc Casanovas and Guiherme Sergio.

The Phoenix now holds a 2-4 record on the season.

Elon will next visit Campbell on Saturday, February 22 at 1 p.m.
