College Track and Field Results: Guilford Competed at the JDL DMR Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Guilford College track and field teams competed at the JDL DMR Invitational on Saturday at the Fasttrack. The non-scoring meet featured competitors and teams from all NCAA
divisions.

Freshman Shelice Alvarez set a new Quaker record in the 60-meter dash. Alverez posted a time of 8.38 seconds and finished 14th of 20 competitors. She broke the 8.49-second record of teammate Ranicha Sargeant. A sophomore, Sargeant clocked an 8.65 time and was 15th in the race.

In the 3000-meter run, freshman Emily Winder posted the seventh-best clocking in the event with an 11:32.68 time. She was 10th of 15 runners.

On the men’s side, AJ Dalmasi posted the sixth-best mark in program history in the weight throw. His distance of 9.04-meters earned him a 16th place finish in the event. Fellow freshman Andriquez Brooks was 16th in the shot put after his mark of 10.09-meters, which is seventh-best in Quaker lore.

Tre Alexander leaped 6.23-meters in the long jump. The sophomore placed eighth of the 23 entrants in the event. Sophomore Kyahl Dorsey was 10th after posting a mark of 6.03-meters.

Juwan Houston was 14th of 30 in the 60-meter hurdles after the senior posted a mark of 8.92 seconds.

The Quakers return to action at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships. The two-day competition begins on Feb. 29 at Roanoke College.
