  1. Curious to how Mount Tabor ranked so much higher than Parkland, parkland beat them twice this year, and they were tourney champs.

  2. I’m just going to assume since Mt Tabor won the regular season championship they was #1 overall seed. It’s been said that’s the toughest conference in the state so guess that’s the award for winning the season. I believe if you win the regular season championship you get higher seeds so all the conference champions will get seeded 1st before Parkland who got in as an at large team and also finished 3rd in the conference. Smith and Parkland are much better than their seeds and who ever have to play them in early rounds should be worried.

  3. For NCHSAA seeding purposes, regular-season champion comes first, then regular-season runner-up. Conference tournament champion doesn’t get any reward from the NCHSAA other than they get into the playoffs if they wouldn’t have otherwise. Conference tournaments are little more than conference fundraisers.

In the Piedmont Triad 3-A, Mount Tabor was the regular-season champ and Smith finished second. That’s why Parkland is seeded behind both of them. Smith actually beat Parkland twice and Southwest destroyed Parkland at Southwest. Parkland is the only team that’s beaten Mount Tabor all season, and the Mustangs have now done it three times.

  4. Always has seemed sort of crazy that very little clout goes to the Conference Tournament winner…Parkland owned Mount Tabor this season, but very little to show for that success, versus the Mount Tabor Spartans, and Mount Tabor got one whale of an overall seed(#1) in the grand scheme of things…

  5. The Dudley girls will be hosting Marvin Ridge at 6pm tomorrow night/Tuesday(Courtesy of Dudley HS AD Art Wade) and we will work to add in more of the game times for the Tuesday Round One games, as we see them being released…

Southeast Guilford girls hosting AL Brown, from Kannapolis, on Tuesday at 6pm, per Shawyn Newton, SEG AD…

Dudley boys at TC Roberson, 6pm on Tuesday per Dudley AD Art Wade….

We thank the AD’s for shooting us these start times…..

  6. @Eagles

Any team that nearly got running-clocked by a Southwest team that barely made the playoffs has no legitimate gripe about not being a higher seed. Parkland also lost twice to a Smith team that’s less than the sum of its parts.

Every coach knows the seeding rules are based on the regular season. You just have to go out and win. Parkland finished third in its conference.

  7. All other Guilford County start times posted and collected from MaxPreps and pretty much all were the standard start time of 7pm, with the exception of Doubleheaders, they usually go at 6 and 7:30pm…

Times may change due to agreements with the two participating schools, but as we mentioned, MaxPreps will usually show the standard 7pm start times for these games…..

  8. We have changed a few times, due to times that have popped up on Twitter…..15 Guilford County teams in Round One and it looks like we might go (7-8) in Round One and we might be able to flip that to (8-7)…

    Any counter-calls???

  9. I got Guilford County Winning 10 think Andrews and Dudley boys win they have long trips but think they can both win those games on the road. The Asheboro and Northern Guilford game should be a good game also.

  10. Guilford County winning 10 games on Opening Night, can they/will they do it???

Do you see more or less wins for our Guilford County teams in Round One???
