GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College sophomore forward Taylor Soule has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley is the ACC Freshman of the Week.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Kitley registered her second consecutive double-double with a 19-point 10-rebound effort in Tech’s road victory over Notre Dame , helping the program earn its first win in South Bend. She added a career-high four assists in the game and had eight blocks also a career-best, nearly tallying a triple-double.

Sunday afternoon against Virginia she recorded 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field and pulled down nine rebounds.

For the week, she averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 56% from the floor. She earns ACC Freshman of the Week for the third time this year, the only player to be recognized three times for the award by the league office.

The Summerfield, North Carolina native has started every game this season, contributing 12.0 points per game as well as 7.4 rebounds. She has worked efficiently all season, shooting 55% from the field. In addition, she has protected the basket with 59 blocks, the second most in the conference.

Kitley and the Hokies are next on the court Thursday, February 27 when they play host to the Duke Blue Devils at 7 p.m. That game can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
