Senior forward Xavier Hill-Mais(Page High School/Greensboro, N.C.) was named the league’s player of the week after recording his second and third-straight double-doubles over the weekend in Oakland’s home victories.

ROCHESTER, Michigan – Senior forward Xavier Hill-Mais has been named the Nike #HLMBB Player of the Week for the second-straight time. Hill-Mais has scored 20 or more points in five-consecutive games and has notched a double-double in three-straight outings.

On Senior Day against Green Bay, Hill-Mais tallied a season-high 31 points to go with 13 rebounds. Down the stretch, it was the fifth-year senior that took over against the Phoenix. He forced the second overtime, hit a triple to take the lead with 21 seconds to go in the final overtime and then knocked down free throws to put Oakland up three with 10.5 left.

Against Milwaukee on Friday night, Hill-Mais had a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. He had two blocks in each victory.

This is the Golden Grizzlies sixth weekly plaudit from the Horizon League this season – sophomore forward Daniel Oladapo earned Player of the Week honors on November 11, sophomore guard Rashad Williams earned Player of the Week honors on February 3, Hill-Mais earned Co-Player of the Week honors on Feb. 17, while freshman guard Blake Lampman has earned Freshman of the Week twice.

Hill-Mais was named Player of the Week by the league last season twice – November 12 and February 25.

Oakland takes its four-game win streak into the regular season’s final two outings at IUPUI on Thursday and UIC on Saturday.
