Blashaw Nets Nine Goals In Victory Over Salem

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s lacrosse team coasted past the Spirits of Salem College 22-6 Tuesday to open USA South Athletic Conference play.

Morgan Montgomery and Madison Blashaw both found the back of the net in the first seven minutes before Salem was able to get on the board. Following the Spirits goal, Greensboro was able to open up a 14-5 lead at halftime after closing out the half on a 12-4 run. During the run, Blashaw struck from five goals while Alexi Murriel added three goals. Mackenzie Burns, Montgomery, Elizabeth Carr, and Logan Schnabl had one goal each.

After going into the halftime with the nine-goal lead, Greensboro quickly added on to their advantage after Blashaw scored for her sixth time. Over the remainder of the contest, the Pride outscored Salem 7-1 to secure the 16-goal victory.

Blashaw finished with 9 goals and three assists to lead the Pride, while Murriel and Montgomery both had five goals and added one assist. Stephanie Carr was credited with the win in goal.
