Lauren Staley Drives in Five to Seal Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity’s Victory Over Southeast Guilford

Lauren Staley came the ballpark and meant business on Saturday, driving in five on three hits to lead Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity past Southeast Guilford 17-1 on Saturday. Staley drove in runs on a single in the second and a single in the third.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning. Heather Vaughn drove in one when she singled.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity notched eight runs in the second inning. Autumn Houser, Anna Byrd, Bre Gallagher, Staley, Vaughn, and Niki Vaughn all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Abby Sutton pitched Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity to victory. She allowed one hit and one run over four innings, striking out five.

Hairston took the loss for Southeast Guilford. She went four innings, allowing 17 runs on 14 hits and striking out two.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity launched one home run on the day. Vaughn went yard in the second inning.

Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity racked up 14 hits. Staley, Gallagher, Houser, Byrd, Layla Burnette, and Vaughn each racked up multiple hits for Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity. Staley led Southern Alamance Patriots Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Pon went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Southeast Guilford in hits.
