Baseball Drops Series Finale At Pfeiffer 2-1

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped the series finale with the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Sunday 2-1.

Pfeiffer held a 2-0 lead heading into the fifth inning before the Pride was able to get on the board in the top half of the inning.

Jacob Rodriguez led off the inning with a single to right field before advancing into scoring position on a soft single into left field. Following a fly out by Scotty McGuire for the first out of the inning, Greensboro got a run on a Pfeiffer error to pull within one run.

Trailing by the one-run margin in the seventh inning, Greensboro threatened to tie the game in the top half of the eighth inning but could not push the tying run across despite having the bases loaded.

Over the final two innings, Greensboro continued to battle but could not push the game-tying run across and fell by the one-run margin.

Cameron Edmonds struck out three batters over five innings but was credited with the loss. Dominic Colosimo pitched the final three innings in relief and did not all a hit. Rodriguez and Hunter Curtis finished with a team-leading two hits.
