NBA suspends season until further notice/NCAA Tournament will be played with NO fans/ACC Tournament in Greensboro will not allow fans beginning with Thursday games(Tournament Radio Games)

The NBA season has been suspended due to one of its players testing positive for the Coronavirus….The player has been identified as Rudy Gobert, from the Utah Jazz….

The 2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament will not allow fans to attend this year’s event…

Closer to home, in Greensboro, beginning with Thursday’s ACC Basketball Tournament quarterfinals, NO fans will be allowed to attend the ACC Tournament during its Thursday thru Saturday games…

Games can be heard on the N.C. State Network, which airs in Greensboro on 105.7 FM and they plan to carry all of the remaining ACC Tournament games beginning with the Thursday quarterfinal games…Gary Hahn and Tony Haines on the call of those games…

Jones Angell and Eric Montross on WPTI 94.5 FM, as long as the North Carolina Tar Heels are still in the tournament…This on the Tar Heel Sports Network…

Duke will be on 98.3 FM and that is part of the Duke Blue Devils Sports Network and not sure who their guys are these days, since Bob Harris moved on…But they will be there for on the Duke games on 98.3 La Rosa…

And then there is the ACC Network and I bet they are wishing now that they would have left those games on WFMY TV 2 here locally…Now that the games are on the ESPN-based TV network, this is the pay-per-view form of College Basketball, and this does not sit well with many of our die-hard ACC fans…They feel like the ACC has betrayed their fan base and it sure seems that the die-hard ACC fans have a pretty good argument here….Bring back the ACC on WFMY TV 2, this was, and should still be, “The home of ACC Basketball in Greensboro”…

This is what I am hearing from the local basketball circles and I hope these die-hard fans get there wish some day, because they made the ACC what it is today, not some of those network executives that think they know our market, because, they don’t….
(I am listening to Jones Angell and Eric Montross right now, as they announce the UNC-Syracuse game.)

  1. We might not need that radio reference for the Tar Heel Sports Network for Thursday….

Heels down 43-22 at Halftime and trail 57-40 in the second half…

Might need that N.C. State Radio Network hookup…
    State over Pitt today, 73-58…

Notre Dame past Boston College, 80-58…

First game of the day, Clemson 69, Miami 64…

And we have you updated on the ACC Tournament for no charge…..

  2. I’m really just curious, will the NCAA, ACC, and NBA refund tickets that have already been sold?

  3. You would think by law there would have to be a full refund for the tickets that can not be used….

I wonder what it says on the back of the tickets about refunds and if anything at all is refundable???
