Spinks entered the season almost blindly, not sure what he would get. He said he knew he had three high-level players, but the absence of the usual offseason routine left him with questions.
(Eastern Guilford finished the season at (22-7)…
“I knew that we possibly had an opportunity to be successful, but I didn’t know how everybody’s mentality was going to be. … It was the first summer since I took this job that I didn’t do workouts, or any camps and stuff,” said Spinks, who added those didn’t take place because of a family situation. “Going into the season Day 1 was November 1, and so I really didn’t know how everybody was going to respond to the way that I coached because a lot of guys were so new, but I still had K.D. (Kadyn Dawkins), Kamell (Smith) and O.J. (Omarion Johnson) coming back.”
