Big -time congrats to the Greensboro Day School on winning the State Independent Schools 3-A title on Saturday afternoon at the Bengals campus on Lawndale Drive. This was championship #7 for Coach Freddy Johnson and he told us on AM 950 Radio that this was probably the sweetest title of them all. Great effort by the Bengals and in particular Alan Fox, Bruce Woodall, Brandon Davis, Big-Man Johnny Thomas, Josh Lanham, Jay Lewis, Travis Leonard, Christian Hayes, and Dana Cook. These men got the job done and we are proud that they brought the Title home to our Gate City.
We will have more on the Bengals in our Monday edition. We have the brackets for the Regionals that are coming up this week. This may be the first printing of these brackets and pairings and if that is the case more power to us.
I did not see the pairings in Sunday’s News and Record but here they are on the GS website.
