Recap: J.J. Redick scored 25 points and hit a critical jumper in the final minute, as top-seeded Duke held off upset-minded Miami 80-76. The Canes looked poised all day long, even as the Blue Devil star Redick began to heat up. Miami hung around because of strong games from Anthony King, Guillermo Diaz and Robert Hite. In the end though, Duke had too much Redick and the Blue Devils advance to Saturday’s semifinal round to face in-state foe Wake Forest.

Recap: Eric Williams scored 20 points and Justin Gray added 19 as Wake Forest ran past NC State 82-71 to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round of the ACC Tournament. Wake Forest continues its stunning run through the tournament field while NC State’s season seems to be going down the drain. Friday’s game was eerily similar for the Wolfpack to last Sunday’s blowout loss at the hands of the Demon Deacons. After a fast start, NC State quickly fell behind and really never seemed to get on track. Friday’s win gives Wake their first trip to the ACC Tournament Semifinals in three years.

Next Up Semifinal One: #1 Duke vs. #12 Wake Forest, Saturday Afternoon, 1:30 pm
Television Coverage: RJ (WFMY Channel 2) & ESPN
GreensboroSports.com breakdown and prediction: Duke had a tougher time with Miami in Friday’s first quarterfinal game than many thought while Wake Forest continues to be the surprise team of the Tournament after their pounding of NC State. Duke’s J.J. Redick seems to have regained his shooting touch which is good news for the Devils. Wake has ridden the hot hands of Justin Gray and Eric Williams and will look for this trend to continue on Saturday. Wake Forest should make this game much closer than expected but in the end, Duke’s tournament experience should be the difference. The Blue Devils close the deal late to win a tight one.
