Patriots’ Season Comes to an End in Eight

The Guilford Patriots saw their hopes of a trip to the Palomino World Series dashed by the Dix Hill squad out of Queens, New York on Tuesday morning. The Pats were up in the contest 3-1, but the Dix Hill came climbing back to take the 4-3 victory in 8 innings. Dix Hill moves from the loser’s barcket to make the route to Puerto Rico for the Series.

This ends the season for the Guilford Patriots and they see their mark end up at 30-9. In Tuesday’s finisher Nick Rogers and Alex Starbuck each drove in a run but the Pats fall in extra innings and 2006 is in the books with no World Series trip on this year’s agenda. We will have more on the Patriots in future installments.
