Rodney Dangerfield Says,” It’s Time to Go Back to High School”: Here Comes the Weekly Poll

When Rodney said it was time to go Back to School we all jumped on board the band wagon with Mr. Mellon. Dangerfield was headed back to college and he was doing the Triple Lindy into the pool but we are going to keep it on the field and do the double-slot right, motion left, on two. It’s time again for the weekly(not weakly) High School Football Polls.

LUCKY 13 POLL

#1) Grimsley (The Whirlies destroyed High Point Andrews last Friday night 34-0(the Whirlies rushed for 275 yards on 53 carries) and now head over to Jamestown to try to do the same thing to Ragsdale. Last year the Whirlies defeated the Tigers 10-0 at Jamieson Stadium)

#2) Thomasville (Tory Holt mentioned losing to the Bulldogs back when he was in High School at Eastern Guilford in an NFL promo last weekend on FOX TV’s Sunday afternoon matchup and everybody else is doing the same thing Tory. The Bulldogs are 4-0 after stomping Ledford 41-0 last week)

#3) Eastern Randolph (The Wildcats did what some said couldn’t be done, they ripped Durham Hillside 37-14, with Cats QB Scott Riddle throwing for 256 yards and 2 TD’s against the Hornets)

#4) Western Alamance (The Warriors are for real and they are looking to get into the driver’s seat in the Triad 3-A Conference. WA is 4-0 and they host a very sneaky Burlington Cummings team this week)

#5) Dudley (The Panthers took care of business last week at NC A&T vs. Smith and now go over to Page and take on a Pirate team that got squashed by GW Danville a week ago. There’s some bad blood with Dudley and Page since Dudley’s new defensive coach Ken Page was with the Pirates for decades and many of the Dudley coaches either played or got their coaching starts over at Marion Kirby Stadium)

#6) Asheboro(The Blue Comets are becoming the suprise team of the area after their 28-7 win over Burlington Williams to go 3-0. The Comets have Western Guilford at home this week, but I want to see what they will do with Eastern Randolph, that will be the real test)

#7) Glenn(The Bobcats got their reality check handed to them losing 14-7 at North Forsyth where the B’cats were out-rushed 188-122 by the up-start Vikings)

#8) Northeast Guilford(The Rams struggled in their 21-17 victory over Northwest and NEG had to put together a late rally to pull this one out trailing by three with only a couple minutes left in the game before the Rams came back behind the running of QB Kendall Bratcher to finish off NWG)

#9) Burlington Cummings(The Cavs are now the Haves and they showed it by smacking Eastern Alamance 33-7 but now they have to go to Western Alamance this week, but the Cavs have a 3-1 record, their only loss was to Dudley)

#10) Reidsville(The Rams beat a pretty tough Rockingham County team like it was nobody’s business 31-14 last Friday and are now 3-1 in 2006)

#11) Ragsdale(The Tigers laid out Western Guilford 42-13 last week and like we talked about earlier, the Ragsdale defense will be tested big-time versus Grimsley this week in Jamestown. Jarvis Siler is fun kid watch for Ragsdale and the Tigers better watch out for Grimsley’s RB’s, Shoffner and Moore)

#12) Southwest Guilford(The Cowboys still have only one loss (3-1) and this week they should handle Eastern Guilford in a game to be played over off Skeetclub Road)

#13) Southeast Guilford(The Falcons moved to 2-1 with last week’s 28-6 win over Southern Guilford. Dion Bratcher had 3 TD’s on the ground and Justin Venable caught a pass from QB Luke Stewart for the other score. Bratcher ran for 250 yards against the Storm defense)
