“The World Awaits”, who do you take? De La Hoya or Mayweather?

On HBO this Saturday night May 5th we will find out, pound for pound, who is the best fighter in the world.  It’s “The Golden Boy” versus the “Pretty Boy”.  Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather.

On Cinco de Mayo it’s De La Hoya taking on Mayweather.  The May weather has been pretty junkie so far this month but it’s about to change.  Oscar is 38-4 with 30 KO’s, while Floyd comes in unbeaten at 37-0 and has 24 KO’s.

“The Golden Boy” is 33 years-old, stands 5’11 and weighs in at 154 pounds.  The “Pretty Boy” is 29, also weighs 154 and is only 5’8 and three quarter inches tall.  Both men have a 72 inch reach.

“The World Awaits”, who do you take?  De La Hoya or Mayweather?  We’ll find out Saturday night, but looking ahead I’ll go with the younger man Mayweather.  Mayweather’s unbeaten and he should take out De La Hoya on a TKO.  To find out more before the fight go to www.hbo.com and let us know here at greensborosports.com who you are picking to win.

  1. I heard that “Pretty Boy” Mayweather weighed in at 150. It shouldn’t make a difference. Mayweather on May 5.
