Dan Patrick is leaving ESPN

Dan Patrick one of the fanchise players at ESPN is leaving after 18 years and has not said where he will be going. Patrick’s last day is set to be August 17.

Where do you think we will see Dan Patrick next? Will he be heading to FOX Sports television. They could be planning a reunion with Dan Patrick and Keith Olberman hosting “The Best Dan Sports Show Period”. Keith may not like the title but it might make him some big money and it would give FOX a nice push.

Fox also has FOX Sports Radio so he could take his radio show over to Fox and move the entire Big Show to FOX Radio. Will Dan Patrick be the next host of The Price is Right? Will we see Dan doing a feature on 60 Minutes?

Could Dan Patrick become the next Dan Rather? I hear that they both hail from the great state of Texas. “The CBS Nightly News with Dan Patrick”. It does have a nice ring to it. Katie Couric, “You’re Fired”. That has a nice ring to it too.

What’s the word on the street about Dan Patrick and will he be remembered as one of the All-Time Top Five at ESPN? Chris Berman, Dan Patrick, Keith Olberman, Greg Gumble, Bob Ley?????

  1. I look for Dan Patrick to try to land a syndication deal ala Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly. Dan had the best show on ESPN radio but probably was paid only slightly better than the other hosts. With syndication, he may get part ownership and get boo coup bucks!

  2. I think Kevin is on to something. Didn’t Tony Kornheiser leave ESPN radio and go to sattelite radio with XM or Sirius? Jim Rome was talking a while back about going to sattelite before he re-signed with Premeire Radio. Dan Patrick may end up on XM with his old partner Keith Olberman. Patrick will re-surface unlike Craig Kilbourne.

  3. I heard on the radio yesterday that Dan Patrick might be going to the NFL
Network. I believe there is another former ESPN guy Rich Eisen over there
    at the NFL Network.

  4. I was hearing that Dan Patrick may be getting the afternoon time-slot on Sporting News Radio. SNR has been moving their lineup around and I think Patrick would be a much better host than that goof ball Tim Brando who calls himself Timmy B. as if people are supposed to identify with him.

Dan Patrick and Arnie Spanier back-to-back could put Sporting News Radio over the top and I’m glad they fired the old dude Pappa Joe. He had to go so SNR could finally head into the 21st century.

I enjoy SNR and I think Dan Patrick would be a perfect fit for them and I also heard that Cal Ripken might be getting a weekend baseball show on their network along with Ozzie Smith and Tony Gwynn.
