The Greensboro Galaxy Girls have won four in a row

In Sunday’s match up with the Lady Cobras from the State of Michigan, the Galaxy AAU ladies basketball team was victorious for the fourth consecutive game. The game was a great match up with speed versus speed. The game was a see saw battle through out with Galaxy leading 23 to 18 at the half. Then the Galaxy club started dominating the boards led by Khadejah Wilkerson (Allen Middle) whom led the club with a 15 rebound performance. Her highest total all season. She also chipped in 8 points. Desiree Drayton (Dudley) help lead a lot of fast breaks and wore out the Cobras center and pressured their point guard all game. She contributed her fourth consecutive double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Miranda Jenkins (Eastern Guilford) had her runners going along with the out side shot to finish with a game high 16 points and 8 assist. Brittany Drew (Page) finish with 10 points and dished out 3 assist from the point guard position. Leandra Hicks (Dudley) responded with another solid game with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Precious Tonkins ( Grimsley) provided solid defense and also contributed 2 rebounds, 1 steal and handed out 1 assist. Haley Newman (Northwest) continues to add much needed minutes off the bench at crucial moments in the game. Haley also got in to the scoring by knocking down a 15 footer and grabbing a key rebound when the game was still in doubt. Brooklyn Davis ( Smith) came in to help break the press and in the mean time hit a nice jumper and handed out 2 assist and 2 rebounds. Galaxy won 56 to 47. They play at 3:30 tomorrow.(Monday)
