******The Guilford Patriots have passed the second test of the season. The first was winning the Greensboro Palomino baseball league and second was the championship of the Region baseball tourney held in Greensboro North Carolina. The Patriots were led with strong pitching. Even though they were beat 10-0 in the first game 9 of the 10 runs were unearned. Mike Dimock, Jody Calloway, Esterlin Paulino and Blaine McCraw led the pitching staff for the weekend. John Neese had a tremendous weekend and provided power with 2 monster home runs. The Guilford Patriots will play Monday night at Glenn High School against the Kernersville Bulldogs at 7:00p.m. Then the Patriots will return the practice field and begin a quest to go to there 12th World Series first under coach Justin Smith. The team will leave Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. and play Saturday afternoon at 2:00. If the Patriots were to win the East Zone they will head straight to California to participate in the Palomino World Series. “I am very fortunate to coach these great kids, I am just so fortunate to have kids that get along with one another. This might be one of the best chemistry teams I have ever been around.
