Eight straight, time to celebrate? Not yet, Nine would be fine…..

The Greensboro Grasshoppers have won 8 games in a row….. Last evening at First Horizon Park the Hoppers took care of the Delmarva Shorebirds 4-1 behind the pitching of Christian Martinez, Chris Leroux, Rodolfo Encarnacion, and Avie Rasowsky.

John Raynor’s hitting accounted for three of the Hoppers’ four runs and John hit a two-run homer, his 8th of the season. Logan Morrison had a HR, it was his 20th of the year, and James Guererro along with Greg Burns had two hits each.

Excellent defense again by Scott Cousins in right field with a circus-like catch that saw him go up against the Mercedes Benz of Greensboro sign and go as high as the Biscuitville rolling pin and bring the ball back into the park for the HUGE out.

The Hoppers will try to take their winning streak to nine games tonight at FHP and nine would be fine. Jarrett Santos(RHP) is scheduled to start for the Grasshoppers and there will be fireworks after the game but how many times do you see a team in the hunt for nine wins in a row? This is something and you need to experience, so get out to the ballpark and enjoy it.
