ABCNews.com is reporting that tests conducted on Chris Benoit’s brain by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Insititute, showed that his brain was so severaly damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer’s patient. Bailes and his research team concluded that the damage to Benoit’s brain was a result of a lifetime of chronic concussions and head trauma that Benoit sustained from wrestling.
The answers Benoit’s family is looking for might have come in the results of Bailes’s study of Benoit’s brain. Bailes and his research team believe that repeated concussions can lead to dementia, which contributes to severe behavioral problems.
