Week Seven High Football Poll for Guilford County schools

Here’s how the landscape looks as we get ready for Week Seven of the season:
#1)Grimsley(5-0) off last week and now this Friday home vs. WS Reynolds at Jamieson Stadium. LB Jack Schultz is still out for the Whirlies.
#2)Northeast Guilford(4-1) defeated Western, this week at Southern Alamance. Next week is the Big One when Western Alamance comes to Bill Bookout Stadium in McLeansville.
#3)Dudley(5-1) whipped Rockingham County and now have Bartlett Yancey visiting Tarpley Stadium for Homecoming on Friday.
#4)Ragsdale(4-2) held off Southeast 14-11 after being down 3-0 at half and then came roaring back and now the Tigers will be at Eastern Randolph for an important Mid-Piedmont 3-A conference clash on Friday.
#5)Southeast Guilford(3-2) lost to Ragsdale and now will play host to Trinity Friday night.
#6)Southern Guilford(4-2) upset West Montgomery 15-14 in OT and now have a well-deserved vacation this week.
#7)Eastern Guilford(3-2) the Wildcats won at Cedar Ridge and will host 3-A cross-county rival Southwest on Friday.
#8)Page(2-3) off last week and travel to Davie County on Friday and a Pirate win would right the ship before Metro 4-A coference action gets under way next week.
#9)Southwest Guilford(2-3) off last week but the Cowboys make the trip to Eastern in what should be a barn-burner Friday. That’s about all EG has left on the Gibsonville campus.
#10)Western Guilford(3-3) things are headed in the wrong direction for the Hornets after a 3-0 start. On the road to Eden Morehead this week.
#11)Northwest Guilford(2-4) the Vikings upset Mount Tabor 21-20 and now have the week off.
#12)High Point Central(2-4) came up short 20-17 at North Davidson and have this week off before hosting Grimsley next week.
#13)High Point Andrews(1-3) lost to Asheboro a week ago on the road and get to come home to Simeon Stadium and play Reidsville. No rest for the weary.
#14)Smith(0-5) 47-0 loss to WS Carver, this week travel to face North Forsyth.
#15)Northern Guilford(3-1) the Nighthawks dropped their first JV game of the season last Thursday to Northeast and will host the Southern Alamance JV’s at Guilford College tonight at 7pm.
*****I got word during the lunch hour today that the Grimsley JV’s played Wednesday night instead of Thursday at Winston-Salem Reynolds. The Whirlies won on the road 28-0 and I got the news that our old buddy Eric Davidson rushed for over 100 yards. If you hear of any other scores send them our way and we will do our best to post them. Reynolds was forced to host the game on Wednesday because there is quite a bit of facility sharing that has to happen in Forsyth County too.*****

  1. Would you start putting a mention about Thomasville each week in your HS poll—they have the longest –winning streak in the state and maybe the nation—they deserve a mention since they are a local team—42 games in a row and still going.

  2. I wish we could start a Thomasvillesports.com or a DavidsonCountysports.com but right now we are staying very busy just trying to keep up with the Greensboro and Guilford County teams. If we could sign a sponsor out of T’ville like Joe’s Tractor Service we might have a deal.

  3. Thank you for putting this site up, it is nice to see a site dedicated soley to Guilford County teams.
