Coach K’s future tournaments

Thank you for all of your efforts to make the 2007 Wachovia Holiday Classic a tremendous success. I was amazed at how smooth things went with 48 games over three days at four different venues and much of that credit goes to all the coaches and your school’s administration.

With just a few items to tie up for the 2007 event which I will handle, I wanted to go ahead and let all of you know that I will not be heading this event in High Point going forward. I wanted to give you as much notice as possible, so if that if any of you would like to take over the reigns you have time to do so.

With Northern Guilford’s facility on the verge of opening it’s doors in the coming weeks, I am now in a position to hold both the Piedmont Challenge and future Wachovia Classics under one roof. The 2008 Piedmont Challenge will feature as many as 30 different teams (both boys and girls) and will be held on Saturday, November 29th. We have two full courts with ample seating at Northern and will be utilizing both courts all day long to accomodate all of the games.

Additionally, I have already secured Wachovia’s continued sponsorship of the holiday tourney at Northern Guilford and we will be setting the dates for that event shortly. We will most likely pair down the fields to eight boys and eight girls teams and all games will again be played at Northern over three days. We will announce the dates shortly and I have already spoken with some of you about attending the event next year. If you are interested please contact me directly.

I look forward to working with everyone on next year’s tourneys and feel free to contact me with any questions. I have enjoyed running the High Point tournament over the past few years and working with GREENSBOROSports.com and all of you and wish each of you continued success.

Best regards,
