Tom Ward Basketball Luncheon – January 31, 2008

Super Bowl week has already lived up to its hype in the Greensboro area as some of our college basketball teams are coming off of Super Weekends going into Thursday’s Tom Ward Basketball Luncheon at UNC Greensboro. Some of our teams are going into Super Bowl type match-ups this weekend.

Speaking this week are:
Video Segment #1
– Coach Stephanie Flamini of Guilford College whose Quakers are 10-7 going into a critical weekend of play.
– Coach Tom Palombo of Guilford whose Quakers are on a 4 game winning streak going into a tough road stretch at Randolph Macon and Virginia Wesleyan. Two wins this weekend will put the Quakers square on top of the ODAC race.
– Assistant Coach Don Burgess (filling in for Bart Lundy) of High Point whose Panthers snapped a 6 game road losing streak by winning at Radford this past weekend and host VMI and Liberty this week.

Video Segment #2
– Coach Patricia Cage- Bibbs of North Carolina A&T whose Aggies are undefeated in the MEAC and sitting on the top of the conference but looking at a match-up with 2nd place Hampton on Monday night.

Video Segment #3
Coach Mike Dement of UNCG who achieved two big milestones this weekend as the Spartans won their first game at College of Charleston and Coach Dement won his 300th game.

Video Segment #4
Coach Lynne Agee of UNCG whose Spartans are coming off an exciting win over Elon over the weekend.

Both Greensboro teams are coming off critical wins and going into a critical 3 game road stretch which will determine their position in the conference. The A&T men have won 5 straight and can move up the conference ladder with their home games this weekend.
