HS hoops update

There were a couple of Monday night games with Word of God defeating Greensboro Day School in the boys game 53-44 and the Holy Rams knocked off the Lady Bengals 45-23. We will have complete video footage of the boys game with audio up on the site later today. Word of God has been called the #4 team in the nation, the #8 team in the country, and the 17th ranked club in the USA by several different people and publications.

They are good and they beat GDS because WOG has more power on the inside with at least two big men on the court at all times whereas GDS only had Javan Mitchell. Jordan Robertson did come in for a few minutes and he hit two key free throws late in the game but for GDS it was mostly Mitchell against two WOG big men all night long in the lane.

Again we filmed the entire GDS/WOG boys game and it will be up on the site later today with audio.

The Ragsdale boys bounced back from their loss to Trinity on Friday night with the Tigers stopping the Asheboro Blue Comet boys 82-63 while the Ragsdale girls were 62-22 winners over the young ladies from Asheboro.

Tonight’s biggest contest will be Dudley at Northern Guilford. Game time is 6pm for the girls, boys to follow, in the new Northern gym. Has anybody been out that way and what are your thoughts on the new Nighthawk gym? The NG-Dudley boys game tonight will be a marque matchup.

Also tonight it’s: Smith at Page, East Forsyth at Grimsley, NEG at Morehead, NWG at HPC, EG vs. McMichael at UNCG, WG at Rockingham County, SG at West Stokes, SW Randolph at SEG, SWG at WS Parkland, Reagan at HPA, and Gospel Light at HP Wesleyan with the Lions visiting the Trojans.
