CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) – Tyler Hansbrough scored 13 of his 39 points in the first and second overtimes to help No. 3 North Carolina rally from a 15-point deficit and beat Clemson 103-93 on Sunday night.

Wayne Ellington added 28 points for the Tar Heels (22-2, 7-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who needed a frantic comeback to keep alive their perfect record against the Tigers in Chapel Hill. North Carolina has won all 53 meetings, setting an NCAA record for the longest home winning streak against one opponent.

Cliff Hammonds scored 31 points to lead the Tigers (17-6, 5-4), who seemed on their way to ending the long-running streak before letting it slip away. Clemson led by 11 points with about 3 minutes left in regulation before the Tar Heels ran off a 14-3 run to force the extra periods.
*****Tyler Hansbrough would now have to rank among the top five players in ACC history.*****(David Thompson, Michael Jordan, Christian Laettner, Len Bias, Tyler Hansbrough)
In other weekend action from the ACC it was Duke(9-0/21-1) over Boston College 90-80, Wake Forest(4-5/14-8) stopped Virginia 80-64 and N.C. State(4-5/15-8) lost to Maryland 84-70.

Duke is still the team to beat and our Durham correspondant Bruce Mitchell said last week to tell Pau(Gasol) Lambeth that it’s not going to happen. Bruce says, “you want some, come get some Pau”, and that Bruce’s Blue Devils may just run the table if they feel like it and the rest of the league better get out of the way, because Duke is coming through.
