Greensboro College Womens Basketball 93, Ferrum 74

Ferrum, Va. – Dione Eccles poured in a career high 30 points as Greensboro College () won at Ferrum, 93-74, in a USA South game on Tuesday night.

Eccles was 8-15 from the field and made 12-18 free throws. She also had a team-leading 9 rebounds and 8 steals for The Pride.

The Pride converted 33-42 free throws in the game while the Panthers made 21-25. GC’s Nikki Wilborn was 10-10 from the charity stripe and tallied 13 points. Danielle Duncan also had 13 and Ashley Burnette contributed 10 for the visitors.

Greensboro led 37-20 at halftime. GC held the Panthers to 25-percent shooting (7-18) in the first 20 minutes.

The Pride led by as many as 23 points in the second half. Ferrum cut the deficit to 11 (72-61) with 3:21 left, but could get no closer.

The GC win–which avenges a 58-54 home loss last month–puts The Pride and Ferrum in a tied for third place in the conference with 10-3 records. They trail Methodist and CNU who are 11-2.
Miranda Carrasco had 24 points for Ferrum (12-8, 10-3). Brittney Bullock had 19 points, 12 rebounds and made 11-12 free throws for FC.
