Steven Rush former GDS star, suspended at N.C. A&T

Steven Rush, the N.C. A&T Aggies leading scorer on the men’s basketball team, has been suspended for this Saturday’s game against Winston-Salem State. Rush was suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct that took place in a game vs. Delaware State on February 18.

Steven Rush is a graduate of the Greensboro Day School where he played for coach Freddy Johnson. Rush began his college hardwood career at UNC-Asheville where he joined high school teammate KJ Garland to form the Bulldogs’ starting backcourt. Rush transferred to N.C. A&T where he has found success as one of the best three-point shooters in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Again, Steven Rush is the Aggies leading scorer and he will be forced to miss the one game on Saturday against the Aggies’ arch-rival, the Winston-Salem State Rams.

Comment from N.C. A&T:”We respect the conference’s decision,” interim N.C. A&T Athletics Director Wheeler Brown stated in a news release. “We have talked to Mr. Rush and he understands the decision and therefore is looking to put the matter behind him quickly.”

*****info gathered from the News and Record web site at www.news-record.com and from GREENSBOROSports.com files. No mention of this suspension at the N.C. A&T athletics web site or at the MEAC site. I’m sure they will get it up there in a few days.*****
