Greensboro Mens Baseball 5 – Montclair State 7

Greensboro, N.C. — Dan Poindexter went 3-5 with 2 runs scored, but Greensboro College lost to visiting Montclair State (1-0) on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.

The Pride out hit the Redhawks 10-9. Travis Brewer and Anthony Corona also collected 2 hits apiece for GC (9-6).

GC had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Poindexter grounded out to end the game.

MSU got home runs from Stephen Piscitelli and Rob Bowness. The Redhawks sent 5 pitcher to the hill and Kevin Dalton got the win.

Kent Gillaland started and pitched the first 7 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 6 runs, struck out 6 and walked 4. J.R. Pike and Josh Hones hurled the 8th and 9th innings respectively.
