Pride women’s basketball going to Kentucky The Greensboro College women’s basketball team will play Thomas
More in the first round of the 2008 NCAA tournament.

The Pride (21-7) will play the hosts on Friday at 7:30 p.m. One of three unbeaten teams in the 63 team field, the Saints are 28-0 and hail from the President’s Athletic Conference. Thomas More is in Kentucky, just South of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The winner faces the victor of Piedmont (24-3) and Oglethopre (23-5) on Saturday.

Greensboro College is making its third post season appearance in the last four years. GC won the USA South regular season and tournament championship.

Baseball Sweeps DH vs. Lake Erie
-Game one: GC 17, Lake Erie 1
Tyler O’Neill had a monster game at the plate for GC, which had 20 hits in the contest. O’Neill went 3-5 with 5 RBI and 2 runs. His second inning home run went high over the left field Pepsi sign at War Memorial Stadium.
Travis Brewer also had 3 hits for GC. Jacob Tomb, Kyle Bolick, Dan Poindexter and Jeff Guerrie all had multiple hits for the home team.
Kit Mock pitched a complete game (7 innings) for GC.

-Game two: GC 8, Lake Erie 4
Starter Josh Hones tossed the first 5 innings and picked up his first collegiate win. Greg Allen threw 2 innings of hitless relief for The Pride.
Dan Poindexter collected 3 hits to lead The Pride offense. Jacob Tomb, Anthony Corona and Richard Fee all had 2 hits. GC had 13 hits in the game.

Greensboro Womens Softball got off to a strong start winning both games it played on Monday in California.
-GC 9, Bethany, Ca. 0 (5 innings)
The Pride scored 6 runs sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning. Jessica Clack and Meagan Knight both had 2 hits for The Pride.
Stacie Patterson hurled the shutout and scattered 3 hits in the game.

GC 9, Thoma More 8 (8 innings)
GC held off Thomas More 9-8 in an 8 inning game.The Pride scored 3 runs in the top of the 8th and held the Saints to 2 in the bottom of the inning.
Jessica Clack kept her hot bat. She was 3-5 with a triple and 3 RBI for GC. Ashley Pennington was 2-4 with 2 RBI for GC.
Erica Brown pitched the last 5 1/3 innings and got the win. She allowed 5 runs but just one was earned.
