Ferrum, Va. — Daniel Ponidexter hit a game-winning home run and Pride ace Kit Mock tossed another gem as Greensboro College defeated Ferrum College, 6-4, on Sunday.
Poindexter (1-4, run, RBI) broke a 4-4 game with a one-run home run in the 7th inning. Jeff Gregory (2-4, run, RBI) added insurance with a solo shot in the next inning.
GC’s Kyle Bolick also had a strong day a the plate. He was 2-4 with 2 RBI.
Mock (6-2) hurled 8 1/3 innings, scattered 15 hits, struck out 7 and walked none. Greg Allen threw the last 2/3 inning and earned his first save of the season.
Eric Harrell and Jason Butterworth both had 3 hits for Ferrum.
