HPC’s Ricky Dowdy to N.C. State on football ride

Ricky Dowdy, a junior at High Point Central High School, visited N.C. State on Junior Day a few weeks back and the Wolfpack liked what they saw. They offered Dowdy a ride and the Black Bison junior verbally stated that he is ready to jump on board with the Pack attack.

Dowdy a LB/DE stands 6’2 and weighs 210 and the Pack says they want to put more pounds on Dowdy and would like to play him at defensive end. They love his speed and Dowdy had 12 sacks and 50-plus tackles for the HPC Black Bison during his junior season in 2007.

Dowdy’s coach Wayne Jones started sending out film on Ricky at the end of last season and the N.C. State Wolfpack liked the tapes. Virginia Tech started showing interest recently but Ricky Dowdy says he wants to continue his education and football career in Raleigh, North Carolina and we wish him well.
