Greensboro Baseball: Methodist 7, GC 4

Greensboro, N.C. — Methodist University defeated Greensboro College 7-4 in a USA South game at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Monarchs earned a split of the regular season series and improved to 18-5, 5-3. GC is now 18-10, 4-2.

Chris Toth (3-2) pitched 7 innings and got the win for MU. Robert Kisiah pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief and earned his second save of the season.

Pride starter Jordan Dorsett (4-2) struggled with control took the loss after 4 1/3 innings. Kevin Showe threw 1 1/3 innings before Torrey Poholsky tossed a scoreless final 3 frames.

The Pride trailed 7-1 in the eighth and rallied to make the game interesting. Anthony Corona (1-4, run, HR, 3 RBI) hit a two-run home run to cut the lead to 7-4, but GC got no closer.

The Pride out hit the Monarchs 6-5, yet no player had more than one hit in the contest. GC could not fully take advantage of 5 MU errors.
