Game two: GC 10, SU 5
Greensboro College (15-11-2; 6-3-1) rallied to earn a split with a 10-5 win over visiting Shenandoah in the second game of a USA South doubleheader at Boys and Girls Club Field on Sunday. The Pride was aided by 8 unearned runs allowed by the Hornets.
GC trailed 5-1 heading to the bottom of the third inning. The Pride tacked on 3 runs in the third, one in the fourth, before breaking game open a 5-5 game with 5 tallied in the fifth.
Kerndra Leghart went 3-3 with a double, 3 runs and 2 RBI. Freshman Nina Chiaruttini went 2-3 with 4 RBI. Her triple in the fifth cleared the bases. Nikki Willborn, Jessica Clack and Jenee Johnos all collected 2 hits in the game.
Olivia McPherson (3-3) relieved Erica Brown and got the win. She threw 3 1/3 innings of scoreless ball. Jordan Davenport hurled the last inning for GC.
Jolisa Jones led SU at the plate. She went 2-4 with a home run, 2 RBI. Despite allowing no earned runs, Amanda (0-1) suffered the loss for Shenandoah (15-7; 5-1).

Game one: SU 5, GC 4
Shenandoah scored 3 runs in the fifth inning en route to defeating Greensboro College, 5-4, in the first game of a USA South doubleheader on Sunday.
Trailing 5-3, GC tacked on one run in the bottom of the fifth. Nina Chiaruttini went 3-4 with a solo home run for GC. Jenee Johnson was 2-5 and lined out to third base to end the game with the tying run on base.
Catherine Beuerle went 2-5 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI to lead the Hornets.
Katie Haskins (1-0) earned the win and pitched a complete game for SU. Stacie Patterson (4-2) took the defeat. Erica Brown a scoreless final 2 2/3 innings for The Pride.
