Greensboro Womens Lacross: St. Andrews 19, GC 6

LAURINBURG, N.C.— Junior Kelsey Binggeli led St. Andrews with six goals and one assist as the Knights defeated Greensboro College, 19-6, on Wednesday. St. Andrews improved to 5-7 on the season while The Pride dropped to 4-9.

GC Freshman Toni Battaglia scored three goals on three free-position shots to lead The Pride.

The Knights would keep the lead for the remainder of the game. SAPC recorded the next four goals to take a five-goal lead but Greensboro scored a pair of goals to pull within three. However, Binggeli ripped a late goal on a Sanders pass to extend the halftime lead to 7-3.

St. Andrews was able to out score Greensboro 12-3 in the second half by controlling the ball including winning 15-of-16 draw controls in the final 30 minutes. SAPC finished the game winning 21-of-27 draw controls. The Knights dominated the scorebook with a 35-15 shot advantage and a 21-19 ground ball edge.

GC Sophomore Christie Hebert provided two goals for the Pride while senior Jennifer Donah scored once. Senior Christina Denney had a team-high two assists and senior Layne Woodard had one assist. Lauren Maynard had 10 saves for GC in the nets.
