Roanoke, Va. – Noah Davidson’s two-out single to left with the bases loaded capped host Roanoke College’s 9-8 comeback win over Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action Wednesday night.
The Quakers (14-15, 4-7 ODAC) took an 8-7 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning before Drew Gurkin (2-1) walked the first two batters and loaded the bases with a two-out single. Gurkin, who fanned a career-high eight in 4.2 innings, hit the next batter to tie the game before Davidson delivered the walkoff hit. Roanoke improves to 10-15 overall, 3-6 in the league.
Joe John had two hits and two RBIs for the Quakers. John Goodwin added a two-run homer for the Quakers.
Guilford hosts Eastern Mennonite University Saturday (4/5) in an ODAC twinbill at McBane Field.
