Going back to Reidsville for the football festivities

“We Are Marshall”…..No, we are GREENSBOROSports.com, but our Web master, Don Moore’s hometown is Reidsville and according to www.news-record.com there are some big activites planned for Don’s old stomping grounds for this upcoming Sunday.

here’s the scoop:

Coach Jimmy Teague(The Reidsville Rams’ football coach) and his team invite the entire Rockingham County community to a state championship celebration that will honor Reidsville High football dating back to the 1930s.

The program will begin at 3 p.m. in the auditorium and will feature former players such as Na Brown, a former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver. There also will be a silent auction, and one of the items up for grabs is the game ball from the 2007 championship game against Shelby High School. Participants will have the chance to buy raffle tickets for items such as a weekend getaway in Boone.

Wes Overby will serve as master of ceremonies.(Overby is the nephew, son, cousin, brother, uncle, or other relative of Gene Overby, the former play-by-play man for Wake Forest football and basketball. The Overby’s own a huge stake in the World Famous Short Sugar’s BBQ Restaurant up in Reidsville.)
