Petersen, Stanton Homer In Hoppers 2-1 Win

Greensboro, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers kicked their four-game losing skid to the curb Sunday; two game balls landed not to far away.

Donning their orange hats, orange jerseys and orange sox together for the first time this season, Byran Petersen and Mike Stanton each blasted two-out, solo home runs and the Hoppers evened their four game series against Delmarva (27-22) at a game apiece with a 2-1 victory.

Greensboro (26-24) starter Kyle Kaminska (2-1) made his first appearance since tossing six hitless innings against Lakewood on May 15 and continued to look strong. The righty surrendered just one unearned on four hits in his five innings of work and has pitched 11 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run.

The bullpen made sure the efforts of Petersen, Stanton and Kaminska were not wasted by combining to throw four scoreless innings and allowing just two more Delmarva hits in the contest.

A.J. Battisto and Corey Madden tossed the middle innings and were each credited with a hold while closer Garrett Parcell entered the game in the ninth to pick up his 13th save of the season—one shy of the league lead.

Greensboro and Delmarva will play game three of their current four-game series Monday beginning at 7:00 p.m. at NewBridge Bank Park. The Hoppers will hand the ball to RHP Alejandro Sanabia (0-1, 3.60), who will be making his first appearance at home for Greensboro; Delmarva is expected to counter with LHP Zach Britton (4-3, 2.98).
