Senior standouts named for NCCA East-West All-Star Games…

The state’s top high school senior athletes have accepted invitations to participate in the NCCA East-West All-Star Games in July.

Men’s Basketball:

Several AP All-State selections, including the Co-Player of the Year, are among those expected to complete in the 60th men’s all-star basketball game in the Greensboro Coliseum on July 21 (tip off at approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the 6:30 women’s game).

The East team will be led by AP North Carolina Co-Player of the Year Donovan “Bo” Ingram, a 6-5 forward of Kinston High School. Expected to join him are fellow AP All-State selections C.J. Williams, a 6-6 forward of Jack Britt High School, and Ty Walker, a 7-1 center from New Hanover County High. UNC signee Justin Watts, a 6-5 guard of Durham Jordan High School, is also expected to play.

The West team will counter with four AP All-State selections of their own. Victor Davila, a 6-9 center of Starmount High School and the leading vote getter for the second straight year, is expected to play, as are fellow All-State selections Chris Vanlandingham, a 6-4 guard of North Henderson High who led the state with a 32.5 scoring average, Malik Stith, a 5-11 guard of East Mecklenburg High School, and Petey Hausley, a 6-6 forward of McDowell High School.

The West won last year’s contest 81-75 and leads the series 30-29.
