Hoppers Drop Rain-Shortened Finale…..

Mense Hits Seventh Home Run of 2008 Campaign

GREENSBORO – Greensboro trailed 7-3 when the skies opened after seven and a half inning of play and weather did not allow the game to resume as the Hoppers dropped the homestand finale to Kannapolis.

All four of Greensboro’s hits came from its top three batters, including Hunter Mense’s seventh home run of the season in the fourth inning.

The loss gave he Intimidators a series sweep and Greensboro fell under .500 (5-6) for the first time in the second half after the 40 minute delay.

Greensboro returns to action Monday as the Hoppers open a two-game series at West Virginia before returning home Thursday, July 3 to face Delmarva.
