NOT QUITE FIRE AND ICE AT NEW BRIDGE BUT FIREWORKS AND RAIN!

We know by now that we haven’t seen it all and probably won’t, but I knew I had seen a lot as the years have added up. Last night was a first for me-after over an hour rain delay with Delmarva and Greensboro the game was officially called due to the heavy rain at the stadium. PA man extraordinaire, Jim Scott made the announcement on the game being called, but added that the FIREWORKS show would be forthcoming……..He was not joking…….a fireworks tech person came out well covered in protective gear-rain and heat protection, as it was, hauling his cart load of fireworks to just behind second base and no quicker that you can say “YOU OUT!” along came the light show along with ole mother nature’s light and water show to the delight of the fans that had stuck around just in case some fuses were lit!

Now, you fireworks experts out there know that this happens from time to time, but seeing it last night was my first time. I hope it’s not my last. Oh, by the way Delmarva won the 5 inning game 5-3 over Greensboro, putting up 5 unearned runs in the 4th. inning.
