Triad Amateur Baseball Standings…..

I was out to the Stoner-White Stadium on Friday evening and took down the recent Triad Amateur Baseball, Greensboro Palomino Standings as of July, 11 2008 and I stuck around and caught the doubleheader that got started at 6pm. Here are the current standings:

Salisbury-(8-1)…
Rockingham County Reds-(9-5)…
Patriots-(7-4)…
McMichael-(6-4)…
Spirits-(7-6)…
Carson-(5-6)…
Elks-(5-7)…
Reno’s-(4-7)…
Diamondbacks-(4-8)…

Last night in game one the ELKS defeated Reno’s 9-1 with local umpiring favorite Big John behind the plate and in game two Carson jumped on the Reds early and topped Rockingham County 11-1.

I spoke with Johnny Smith of the Proehlific Power and the PP will play a doubleheader on Sunday at the Hickory Crawdads’ LP Franz Stadium and then come home to Northern Guilford to close out the regular season on Tuesday. The Triad Amateur Baseball regular season ends on Monday night.

  1. Andy – any updates on the PP Team…..haven’t heard anything about these guys over the past week or so. When is their next tournament and where? Do they know who they are playing yet?

  2. The Power were set to play two games in Hickory on Sunday afternoon and then close out the season at Northern Guilford on their home field on Tuesday evening.

I will try and get up with Johnny or Justin Smith and get some scores…

They have had a ton of rainouts in the past two weeks…..

  3. Proehlific Power will play tonite at Northern at 7:00 against Fuquay-Varina, a collegiate team, in a wood bat game. Tomorrow night they play at Glenn and back home Thursday night against a strong Caldwell County collegiate team. All of these games are wood bat. The Power leaves Monday for Virginia Beach to play in the Palomino Region tournament. The tournament will consist of Proehlific Power, Lynnhaven, Virgina, Western Branch and I think Deep Creek. The Power will open up on Tuesday playing their league winner Western Branch. The winner of this tournament goes to Pittsburgh to play in the zone. If you get a chance check out the Power tonite.
