Greensboro White falls, Proehlific Power won’t play until Friday…

The Greensboro White team battled back in the East Zone Colt baseball touirnament but dropped the ball game 5-4 to the CBC, the Chesterfield Ball Club out of Chesterfield County Virginia.

The Greensboro team was playing their second game of the day with about a half hour of rest, but they still fought and will now have to battle back and win their next contest which comes up on Friday night at 6pm versus the winner of tonight’s second game with Lynnhaven, Virginia facing Greatneck, Virginia.

The line on the GB White-CBC game went 4-0 CBC after one inning, 5-0 CBC after 2, 5-1 CBC after three, still 5-1 CBC after 4, then 5-3 CBC at the end of 5 innings, and then 5-4 CBC after six and GB White couldn’t get on the board in the seventh and they lined out to left field to end the game.

Zach Hodges who made big plays offensively for the Greensboro White Colts had a two-run home run for GB White in the fifth inning to spark that comeback. Ducan Everete pitched extremely well for GB White. Key GB players included Dusty Long, Garrett Lewis, Dusty Shutt, Daurius Mimms, Matt Rutledge, Caleb Collins, Scott Wells, Johnathan Wells, Everete, and Hodges.

The field conditions were still not good enough for the Proehlific Power to continue play up in their tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Way too much rain on Wednesday and now they will try and get it going again at 11am on Friday morning.
